The Story
Behind every good product, there is a story to be told. A story that extends beyond business, but into passion. Into bonds, memories, and emotions that will last a lifetime. That's Wild Outdoors is founded on the experiences of two enthusiasts who simply cannot get enough; of dreamers, who share a bond through nature and expression; and of storytellers, who can't let go of a creative obsession. Whether separated by a rod's length of chalky water, or by a mountain range that spans across state borders; together, we share a commitment to the stories that just need to be told.

About Michael
As a lifelong writer, my journey began at a young age with a bookshelf and a junked typewriter. While my early-on passion for writing led me to pursue journalism in school, I discovered two more items that became just as essential in my life as my pen: my camera and fly rod. After the first time I accompanied my Hill Country homewaters with my Nikon, I was teased by the idea of producing fly fishing media as a career. Eventually, Texas waters took me to the sage brush, and what started as a tease, became a dream; and a dream a pursuit. Based in western Colorado, I'm currently earning a degree in creative writing. While sharpening my writing skills, I have also been developing my craft as a videographer and alpine expeditioner. As a Texas native, my heart is in the Hill Country, throwing flies for carp. However, my time in Colorado has bonded me me to weekly summits and climbing sessions before sunset. Regardless of where I am, the love I feel when throwing mouse patterns under moonlight or listening to coyotes yap in agaves is something I hope to share with others.
About Ethan
Born and raised in Texas, my passion for the outdoors was instilled in me early. The occasional fly-fishing excursion with my grandpa turned into bi-annual trips to Alaska, which turned into working in Alaska in the summers, which led to a love of the land. As my passion for the outdoors expanded, so did my knack for documenting and writing. Now attending the University of Wyoming in journalism, working for Wyoming Game & Fish department as a fish hatchery technician, and sharing my experiences in the form of photographs and thoughts - I intend to share the wonders of nature through my very own lens.
